About Tamriel Field Guide

Tamriel Field Guide exists for one simple reason: when you’re in the middle of a Skyrim session and need an answer, you shouldn’t have to dig through pages of lore, pop-ups and half-finished wiki entries to find it.

What you’ll get here

Every guide on this site starts with the answer to the question you searched for, right at the top. Where is it? How do I get it? Is it worth my time? The deeper detail sits underneath for anyone who wants it, laid out so it’s easy to read on a phone propped next to your keyboard or controller.

Alongside the guides, we build free tools, starting with our searchable list of Skyrim console commands, because some answers are easier to use than to read.

Who runs the site

Tamriel Field Guide is written and edited by Thorin Ortega. Thorin looks after every guide on the site, from the first research notes to the last check in the game before a page goes live.

How we keep things accurate

Skyrim has been around for well over a decade, and the internet is full of outdated or simply wrong advice about it. Every fact on this site is checked against the game’s own data and against long-standing community references before it goes live. When something can work more than one way, depending on your choices or game version, we say so instead of guessing. You can read the full process on our how we write our guides page.

Spotted a mistake?

We’d genuinely like to know. If something in a guide doesn’t match what you’re seeing in your game, send us a note through the contact page and we’ll look into it.
